CPU
Starting with the CPU, our recommendation is the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X. It’s usually found at a very similar price to the Ryzen 7 7700 variant, but has a higher power target, meaning it delivers slightly more performance out of the box. Otherwise, both CPUs are very similar, with the same amount of cache and cores, and both are unlocked and can be overclocked.
Comparing the Ryzen 7 7700X to the new Ryzen 7 9700X, the 7700X is a much more interesting CPU, as it offers very similar performance in games, but with a much better price tag than the newer AM5 CPU.
Our Recommendation: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X (AMD Ryzen 7 7700 also an excellent option if considerably cheaper).

CPU Cooler
The Ryzen 7 7700X is a CPU that requires a good cooling solution, as AMD sets the CPU to clock as high as it can, until it reaches a max temperature set in BIOS. It is recommended to use either a Dual Tower Air Cooler, or a 360mm Water Cooler, as they have more cooling headroom.
Considering cooling performance for the price, it is hard to beat the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 360mm performance. It has a 38mm thick radiator (compared to 27mm in most AIOs) and high-quality fans, with good static pressure and low noise levels. The ARCTIC AIO will require a compatible case due to it’s extra thickness.
Another excellent selection of AIOs worth checking out, is the CORSAIR iCUE 360mm White Lineup, with options like CORSAIR iCUE Link H150i and iCUE Link Titan 360 RX RGB. Both offer high build quality and gorgeous looking ARGB fans, perfect for a build like this.
More affordable options like the Thermalright Frozen Notte 360, the Cooler Master MasterLiquid 360L Core, and other similar AIOs, are great if you want to save some money, and offer excellent cooling performance for the Ryzen CPU.
- For even more CPU Cooler options you can check our best looking, high performance water cooler list!
Our Recommendation: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 360 (with compatible case) or CORSAIR iCUE 360mm AIO.

Motherboard
For the AM5 Motherboard, there is a wide selection to choose from. B650 Chipset Motherboards are an excellent, more affordable option, but with the release of X870 Chipset Motherboards, options with PCIe 5.0 support (B650E, X670E and X870) are easier to find in the $200 range. Options like the Gigabyte B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE and ASUS PRIME X670E-PRO WIFI can be found at a more affordable price range, especially when on sale.
- If you are looking into a higher-end X870 motherboard, with USB4, WiFi 7 and a few other quality of life features, check our $300’ish X870/X870E Motherboard Buying Guide and Comparison for Gaming Builds.
Our Recommendation: Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX ICE (PCIe 4.0), ASRock X870 Pro RS WiFi (PCIe 5.0, USB4 and WiFi 7) or similar $180-220 AM5 Motherboard.

Memory
Considering gaming performance, a DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 kit still is one of the best options available for AM5 Ryzen CPUs, it’s easily found at an affordable price, and compared to more expensive, higher speed or lower latency kits, it delivers minimal difference in average framerate or 1% lows performance.
It is possible to find a few AMD EXPO high speed, low latency kits at a very similar price. 6400MT/s CL32, 6400MT/s CL30 and 6000MT/s CL28 kits are also available, and some are quite close in price with 6000MT/s CL30 kits.
- For more DDR5 options you can check out: Best DDR5 Kits for AMD Ryzen 7000 & Ryzen 9000 AM5 CPUs.
Our Recommendation: G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 6000 CL30 or similar 2x16GB DDR5 Kit.

Storage
For storage, a NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD with DRAM Cache is highly recommended for a high-end build like this. They are fast, with excellent response times for everyday tasks, high performance and high endurance, perfect for a gaming build.
At least 2TB capacity would be highly recommended, it is a good amount of space for a large gaming library. For those who need even more capacity, we recommend an additional PCIe 4.0 HMB 2TB SSD. They are more affordable, and great options for extra storage.
Our Recommendation: Acer Predator GM7000 2TB, WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB or similar PCIe 4.0 SSD with DRAM Cache.

Case
If you are building a PC with stunning visuals, you want a case that can really show off everything, something that can highlight and showcase the components you choose.
There’s a few combinations worth checking out:
- The Corsair iCUE LINK 3500X RGB has 3x Corsair iCUE LINK RX120 fans included, and a perfect combination with Corsair iCUE LINK Titan AIOs;
- The NZXT H6 Flow RGB has 3x NZXT F120 RGB Core fans included, being an excellent pair with the NZXT Kraken/Kraken Elite AIOs;
- The new RGB versions of NZXT H5 Flow and NZXT H7 Flow come with the Single Frame RGB Core fans. Perfect for the new Kraken Elite RGB;
- The Antec C5 ARGB offers excellent value, with 7x 120 PWM ARGB fans included, perfect if you want to save some money;
- The Montech KING 95 PRO comes with 6x 120/140 included fans. A 360mm AIO and a Montech AX120 ARGB 3-Pack can be fitted to the case.
Other than that, there’s a few blank slates worth checking out. If you want a specific set of fans, or a certain aesthetic, cases like the Lian Li O11 Vision Compact, O11D EVO RGB and Antec C8, are some of the best examples for that.
Our Recommendation: Corsair iCUE LINK 3500X RGB, NZXT H6 Flow RGB or Lian Li O11 Vision Compact (or similar case)

PSU
For this build, a high-end 850W PSU is already overkill. White 850W high-end options, like the NZXT C850 Gold ATX 3.1 and Corsair RM850x SHIFT White, are some of the best options for a high-end build. They offer 10 year warranty, quiet operation, high-end components and native support for 12+4pin RTX 40 power connectors.
- The Corsair SHIFT power supply will require a case that has enough clearance to be compatible with it’s cable layout. Most Corsair, and dual-chamber cases should be compatible, but some research is required (Corsair has a tool called PSU Finder that can help with that).
- For a few other 850W, or 1000W PSU options check our list of best 850W & 1000W PSUs for RTX 4000 GPUs.
Our Recommendation: NZXT C850 Gold ATX 3.1 or Corsair RM850x SHIFT White (if you have a compatible case)

GPU
The Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16GB is a decent improvement over the previous RTX 4070 Ti 12GB. Similar to the RTX 4080 SUPER 16GB, it now offers 16GB of VRAM, versus 12GB in the previous version, and it has slightly improved performance on all resolutions. The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER offers DLSS support and better ray tracing performance than AMD RX 7000 GPUs in a similar price range (Radeon RX 7900 XT), but compared to the AMD GPU, it has lower raster performance in most games.
Despite all that, it offers excellent performance overall, great ray tracing performance, enough VRAM to tackle high-quality settings, at high resolutions without issues. It has support for DLSS, meaning even with up-scaling enabled, it’s possible to play at high resolutions, with excellent performance and high visual quality in most games.
Our Recommendation: Gigabyte AERO OC or ZOTAC Gaming Trinity OC White (300mm+ length models).

Optional: Case Fans
For most use cases, it is recommended to have at least two intake fans and two exhaust fans. Additional fans can be used for improved component cooling and to help exhaust the hot air from inside the case.
- Also check out: Corsair iCUE LINK Fans; NZXT F-Series Fans and Lian Li UNI FAN Series.
Our Recommendation: Matching the Case Fans with the included AIO Fans if possible.
