Getting the best gaming performance out of AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs, is highly dependent on hitting the sweet spot of 6000MT/s together with tight timings. The recommendation for those that just want to enable XMP/EXPO, is to buy a 6000 CL30 kit, or something that fit the budget that’s not far from it. For those that want to manually tune timings, test the limits of what can be extracted from Ryzen 7000, the recommendation is to get a SK hynix kit, and we will go through some of them in this list.
SK hynix produces two chips, M-die, the most common version, capable of easily hitting 7000+MT/s on Intel CPUs, and capable of tight timings at 6000MT/s on Ryzen CPUs, as seen on kits like G.SKILL EXPO 6000 CL30 kits. The second one produced is A-die, SK hynix high end, more expensive chip, capable of reaching 8000MT/s on Intel 13th gen CPUs.
Kingston DDR5 Kits
Kingston DDR5 kits are a solid option overclocking, and the easiest one to know what are you getting, they either use Micron, or SK hynix. The Kingston Fury Renegade family starts at 6000MT/s, so it’s guaranteed to find SK hynix chips, either M-die on the lower speeds, or A-die on the higher speeds.
As for the Kingston Fury Beast family, knowing the limitations of Micron A-die on Kingston kits (up to 5200MT/s CL36), the chances of finding a much more affordable SK hynix kit increases by a lot, and you can also find Kingston Fury Beast EXPO kits, that have more detailed information available, so it’s easy to find what you need.
